Emails we send about payouts
Short answer
When a payout is sent, we email the amount, the bank reference, the account it went to and when it should arrive, with a link to its statement. We also email if a payout is cancelled, fails or comes back.In this article
When the money is sent
The subject says how much is on its way and the last four digits of the account. Inside:
- Bank reference: search for it at your bank to find the transfer.
- Sent and To: when it went, and the bank and account’s last four digits.
- Estimated arrival: an estimate, because the last step belongs to your bank.
- The number and total of payments and refunds it covers.
- View payout and statement, which opens its page and the full list of what it covers.
When something goes wrong
| What it means | |
|---|---|
| A payout was cancelled | It was called off before the transfer. The money is back in your balance and goes in your next payout. |
| Your payout could not be sent | The bank refused it. Payouts pause until you update your bank details. |
| Your payout was returned by your bank | It was sent and came back. Payouts pause until you update your bank details. |
In the last two, the money is safe in your balance.
Who gets them
Your business’s owner gets the payout emails, and others who can see your balance see them in their inbox. Each person can choose under Settings → Notifications, except that notices about a failed or returned payout cannot be turned off.
