Invoice reminders
Short answer
Once an invoice is finalised, we email your customer reminders three days before it is due, on the day, and then 3, 7 and 14 days after. They stop when it is paid, voided or written off.In this article
When they go
We send a reminder three days before it is due, on the day, and then 3, 7 and 14 days after, at most one a day. Each one links to the page your customer pays on.
They start when you finalise the invoice, whether or not you have pressed Send. If an invoice is finalised late, your customer gets only the reminder that is due, not the ones they missed.
Reminders need a due date. An invoice without one is never reminded, so set a due date if you want us to chase it.
The invoice’s page counts them under Reminders sent.
How to stop them
Reminders stop when the invoice is paid in full, voided or written off. There is no setting to turn them off for one invoice. If your customer has paid you another way, write it off so they are not chased.
A part-paid invoice still has money owing, so its reminders carry on.
In Test mode
A reminder goes only to an address on your team, because Test mode emails nobody else.
After the last one
Two weeks after the due date the reminders end. An invoice still unpaid by then says Overdue, and is worth a phone call.
