How your customer pays an invoice
Short answer
They open the link in our email, check the invoice on its page, and pay by card on the bank’s own page. When it is paid, the invoice’s status changes by itself and they get a receipt.Verified 1 November 2026
What your customer does
- They open the link in the email, or one you sent them.
- The page shows the invoice: your business, its lines, any tax, the total and what is still due.
- If you allowed it, they can type a smaller amount to pay part of it.
- They give an Email for the receipt, and pay by card on a secure page hosted by the bank.
The card number goes only to the bank. It never reaches you or us.
They do not need an account, and anyone with the link can open the page, so send it only to them.
After they pay
- The invoice shows as paid once the bank has confirmed the money. Your page lists it under Payments against this invoice.
- If they paid part of it, the balance stays outstanding, and reminders continue.
- If they somehow paid too much, the invoice’s page offers Refund the overpayment.
If they cannot pay
Their own bank decides whether the card is accepted, so Why was a payment declined? applies here too. The invoice stays open, so they can try another card on the same page.
If they say they never got it
Check the address on their customer record, and their spam folder. You can press Send again, or copy The link the customer pays on and send it yourself.
