Notification settings

Short answer

Open Settings → Notifications to choose, for each kind of notice, whether you get an email, a note in the dashboard’s inbox, or both. Your choices are yours, and apply to the business you are in.

Change them

  1. Open Settings → Notifications.
  2. Notices are grouped, such as Payments and refunds, Disputes and Payouts.
  3. For each one, switch Email and Inbox on or off. It saves as you go.

Some switches are locked: they cannot be turned off, for anyone who gets them: a payout that fails or comes back, your balance going negative, changes to your payout bank details, a live secret key made or revoked, a webhook endpoint switched off, and anything about your own sign-in. A few more are always on for your business’s owner: disputes, your payouts being paused or resumed, a change to your payout schedule, a balance adjustment, your application, and your account being restricted. Everything else, such as a payment being received or a payout being sent, can be turned off. You are also always told about something that is about you, such as your own role changing.

Whose choices they are

Your choices are yours, and do not change anyone else’s. They apply to the business you are in. To use them for all your businesses, press Copy to all my businesses.

Emails go to the address you sign in with. The page shows it, with a link to change it.

In Test mode

Test activity appears in your inbox. Only security and developer notices are emailed.

Your customers’ emails

Receipts and refund receipts to your customers are set under Settings → Customer emails instead.
