Close your account

Short answer

Your business’s owner writes to us to close it. We close it once there is no live money left in it, no payout on its way and no open dispute, and closing is final.

Ask us

The owner writes to us, from the address they sign in with, saying they want the business closed. There is no button for it, because closing cannot be undone.

What has to be settled first

We close a business once, in Live mode:

  • its Available balance is zero;
  • nothing is still Pending;
  • no payout is on its way;
  • no dispute is still open.

A negative balance has to be paid back first. A positive one is paid out to your bank account, and Pending money has to finish its delay and be paid out too. An open dispute has to be decided by the bank, which can take weeks.

Test mode does not hold it up: a test balance is not money.

After it is closed

Nobody can take payments or receive payouts for it again. We keep the records the law requires us to keep.

If you only want to stop for a while, you do not need to close it: turn off your payment links and stop sending invoices.

Leaving a business, not closing it

If you work at a business and want to leave its team, ask its owner or an administrator to remove you. Change someone’s role or remove them explains how.
