Transfer ownership

Short answer

The owner opens Settings → Team, chooses the new owner under Transfer ownership, ticks the box and presses Transfer ownership. The old owner becomes an administrator.

Before you start

The new owner has to be on your team already. If they are not, invite them and let them accept first.

Transfer it

  1. Open Settings → Team.
  2. Under Transfer ownership, choose the New owner.
  3. Tick the box saying you understand you will become an administrator and will no longer be able to transfer or close this business.
  4. Press Transfer ownership.

You may be asked for a code from your authenticator app first.

What changes

  • They become the owner, and you become an administrator.
  • You cannot undo it yourself. Only the new owner can transfer it back.
  • There is always exactly one owner.

If the business has been sold

Tell us as well. The person who owns the business is part of what we verified, so a new owner’s details may need checking before payouts carry on.
