Why can’t I change a link’s price?
Short answer
A link’s price is fixed, because the address may already be on a poster or in messages you cannot recall. To charge something else, make a new link and turn the old one off.Verified 1 November 2026

Change the price
- Make a new price under Products, if you need one.
- Create a new payment link with it.
- Share the new link.
- Press Turn off on the old link.
Anyone with the old link then gets a page saying "This payment link is no longer available". Payments already taken through it stay on record.
Why it works this way
The people who will pay have been told what it costs, somewhere we cannot reach. If the price behind a printed QR code could change, a customer could be charged an amount they were never shown.
For the same reason, nothing a customer sends can change what a link charges.
What you can change
You cannot change a link’s price or its fixed quantity. Turning it off and on is the one change the dashboard offers on an existing link, so for anything else, make a new link.
If the amount differs each time
Use a price that lets the customer type the amount, for a deposit or a donation. To bill one person a specific amount, an invoice may fit better.
