Sign in with a passkey
Short answer
A passkey lets you sign in with your face, fingerprint or device PIN instead of typing a password. If you use two-step verification, you still enter your authenticator code afterwards.Verified 1 November 2026
Add a passkey
- Open Settings → Security on the device you want to use.
- Under Passkeys, add one and follow your device’s prompts.
If the page says "This browser cannot create passkeys", try a phone or a laptop with a fingerprint reader.
Use it
On the sign-in page, press Sign in with a passkey.
Why you still get asked for a code
A passkey replaces the password step, not the code. It proves you have your device, and your authenticator app is the second, separate check. Your password keeps working too.
If you lose the device
Sign in with your password on another device, then remove the old passkey under Settings → Security.
