# Sign in with a passkey

A passkey lets you sign in with your face, fingerprint or device PIN instead of typing a password. If you use two-step verification, you still enter your authenticator code afterwards.

## Add a passkey

1. Open **Settings → Security** on the device you want to use.
2. Under **Passkeys**, add one and follow your device’s prompts.

If the page says "This browser cannot create passkeys", try a phone or a laptop with a fingerprint reader.

## Use it

On the sign-in page, press **Sign in with a passkey**.

## Why you still get asked for a code

A passkey replaces the password step, not the code. It proves you have your device, and your authenticator app is the second, separate check. Your password keeps working too.

## If you lose the device

Sign in with your password on another device, then remove the old passkey under **Settings → Security**.
