Accept a dispute

Short answer

If you agree with your customer, or the evidence is not worth gathering, type ACCEPT and press Accept the dispute. You will normally lose it, and the bank still makes the final decision.

When it makes sense

  • Your customer is right: the goods did not arrive, or you charged twice.
  • The amount is small, and gathering evidence would cost you more than it.
  • You have nothing that answers the reason they gave.

How

  1. Open the dispute under Disputes.
  2. Under Or accept it, type ACCEPT.
  3. Press Accept the dispute.

That tells us no evidence is coming, so we stop the reminders. You can only accept before you submit evidence.

What it costs

Accepting moves no money by itself. A chargeback’s amount was held from your balance when it opened, and if you lose, it stays gone. A lost chargeback may carry a handling fee, which a person decides and the dispute shows. Won, lost, and the dispute fee explains.
