# A refund on a US-dollar payment

You refund a US-dollar payment in US dollars, up to what was paid. Your customer’s card is credited in Belize dollars, at the same fixed rate the payment was charged at.

Who can: Owner, Administrator, Support can refund a payment in [Payments](https://dashboard.secureprocessing.app/payments).

## What you type

The refund form uses the payment’s own currency. On a US-dollar payment the **Amount** is in US$, and the **Refund** button shows it, for example **Refund US$40.00**.

## What your customer gets

Their card was charged in Belize dollars, so it is credited in Belize dollars too, at BZ$2.00 to US$1.00. A US$40.00 refund credits BZ$80.00. The rate is fixed, so a refund never costs more or less than the payment brought in.

## What leaves your balance

Your balance is in Belize dollars, so the refund comes out of it in Belize dollars, and our fee comes back with it, in proportion, [unless your rate keeps it](https://docs.secureprocessing.app/help/refunds/do-i-get-your-fee-back.md). The payment’s page and your **Balance transactions** show both.
