# Let customers choose the amount

Give a product a price where the payer chooses, within a range you set, then make a payment link with it. Use it for a deposit, a donation or a tip.

Who can: Owner, Administrator, Developer can add a price in [Products](https://dashboard.secureprocessing.app/products).

## Make the price

1. Open **Products**, and either press **New product** or open one you have.
2. Under **How the amount is decided**, choose **The payer chooses, within a range**.
3. Enter a **Minimum** and a **Maximum**. A **Suggested** amount is optional, and has to sit between them.
4. Press **Create product**, or **Add price** on a product you already had.

Then [make a payment link](https://docs.secureprocessing.app/help/payment-links/create-a-payment-link.md) and choose that price. It is marked **(payer chooses)**.

## What your customer sees

The link’s page asks them to choose what to pay between your minimum and maximum, with your suggested amount filled in. Anything outside the range is refused.

## Where it does not work

An invoice states what is owed, so a price where the payer chooses cannot go on one. Write the line yourself instead.
