# Add GST to an invoice

Your account already has Belize GST at 12.5%, so choose it in the **Tax** box on each line that needs it. A line has no tax until you do.

Who can: Owner, Administrator, Developer, Support can do this in [Settings → Tax](https://dashboard.secureprocessing.app/settings/tax).

## Add it to a line

1. Open the draft invoice under **Invoices**.
2. Under **Add a line**, fill in the line.
3. In **Tax**, choose the GST rate.
4. Add the line.

Do this for each line that needs it. Tax is worked out per line and added up on the invoice.

## See and add rates

Your rates are under **Settings → Tax**. Your account starts with GST, added on top of the price. You can add another rate there, including one where the tax is already inside the price.

## If the rate changes

You cannot edit a rate, because an invoice your customer already holds has to keep matching it. Add a new rate instead, then archive the old one, so that new invoices use the new rate.

Once an invoice is finalised, its tax is fixed.

## What we do not do

We work out the tax you choose and show it on the invoice. We do not advise whether you should charge GST, and we do not file it. Your accountant can tell you what applies, and **Reports** has what they will need.
