# Invite a teammate

Open **Settings → Team**, enter their email address, choose a role and press **Send invitation**. They get an email with a link, and nothing changes until they accept it.

Who can: Owner, Administrator can do this in [Settings → Team](https://dashboard.secureprocessing.app/settings/team).

## Send the invitation

1. Open **Settings → Team** in the dashboard.
2. Under **Invite someone**, enter their email address.
3. Choose a role. It starts on the one with the least access.
4. Press **Send invitation**.

You may be asked for a code from your authenticator app first.

## What they do next

They open the link in the email and sign in, or create an account, with the address you invited. An invitation works only for that address, and only once.

It lasts seven days. Until then it is listed under **Pending invitations**, with its expiry date.

## If it did not arrive

Ask them to check their spam folder. Then press **Resend** next to the invitation, which starts the clock again and stops the old link working.

If the email cannot be sent, the page says so, and **Resend** gives you a link to send them yourself. The link works only for the address you invited, so it is no use to anyone else.

## Things to know

- An administrator can invite anyone except another administrator. Only the owner can invite an administrator.
- Nobody can be invited as owner. Ownership moves only by a transfer, on the same page.
- Give each person their own account, and the role that fits their work. Do not share a sign-in.
