# Change someone’s role or remove them

Open **Settings → Team**, choose a new role beside the person and press **Save**, or press **Remove**. It takes effect on their very next click.

Who can: Owner, Administrator can do this in [Settings → Team](https://dashboard.secureprocessing.app/settings/team).

## Change a role

1. Open **Settings → Team**.
2. Under **Members**, choose the new role beside the person.
3. Press **Save**.

## Remove someone

Press **Remove** beside them. They lose access to this business straight away, on their next click, because we check every time. Their own sign-in still works for any other business they belong to.

## Who can do what

- The owner can change or remove anyone but themselves.
- An administrator can change or remove anyone except the owner and other administrators.
- You may be asked for a code from your authenticator app first.

## Hand over ownership

There is exactly one owner. To make someone else the owner, use **Transfer ownership** on the same page, tick the box to confirm, and press the button. You become an administrator, and you cannot undo it by yourself.

## Someone who has left

Remove them, rather than changing their role to **Viewer**. Then check **Settings → Security** and your API keys for anything they set up.
